Chili

Deliciously simple chili

Scale: clear | x0.25 | x0.5 | x1.5 | x2 | x3 | x4

  • 1 lb (454 g) lean ground beef
  • 0.5 onion, diced
  • 0.5 green bell pepper
  • 1 stalks of celery

Brown ground beef and vegetables in large saucepan.

  • 1 12 tsp corn starch
  • 1 12 tsp (7 g) water, cold

Mix corn starch and cold water, then dump into pot and stir.

  • 1 (4 g) cloves garlic
  • 1 12 tsp oregano
  • 1 12 tsp cumin
  • 12 tsp (3 g) salt
  • 12 tsp paprika
  • 14 tsp cayenne
  • 18 tsp black pepper

Add spices and garlic to pot.

  • 199 ml tomato sauce
  • 398 ml diced canned tomatoes
  • 0.5 can tomato paste

Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes and bring to a boil.

Simmer (and still once in a while) or boil (and stir frequently) until the the chili becomes very thick.

  • 270 ml canned kidney beans
  • 0.5 can of corn

Stir in kidney beans and corn and cook for a few minutes.
