Apple Crisp

Delicious easy-to-make dessert

This is my mom's recipe and she has probably made it about one hundred times now.

Grease a 1.5 L baking dish

  • 18 cups Granny Smith apples, sliced

Prepare apples, measure, and arrange in dish.

  • 8 cups (1.6 kg) white granulated sugar

Sprinkle with granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp. (5 g) lemon juice
  • 1 13 cup (315 g) water

Combine lemon juice and water. Poor over apples.

  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (490 g) packed brown sugar

Cream butter and gradually add brown sugar.

  • 1 13 cup (167 g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups rolled oats, large

Blend in flour and oats. Spread over apples.

Bake at 375°F until apples are tender, about 35 minutes.

Serve warm, plain, or with ice cream.
